A Tapestry of Summer Dreams

Perfect for fans of Shakespeare and Percy Jackson.

Silly one-sentence summary: Oberon is confused by lesbians and ace people.

TLDR: Beks talks about their play, A Tapestry of Summer Dreams, available in print and ebook at major retailers except for Amazon.

Most of my book search queries look something like:

  • Shakespeare but aroace and non-binary

  • Aroace fantasy

  • Aroace swashbuckler

Turns out, there’s plenty of space to add books, plays and poetry in these areas. So, I started writing them myself!

One of my favorite early writing experiments was, “What if [insert story here], but aroace and trans?”

Whether I liked the story or not.

It opened some pretty fun adventures!

One of my first takes on this: A Tapestry of Summer Dreams.

What if Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream had a sequel in the 2020s, on a college campus, and the allonormative pressure of Oberon’s magical love flower was foiled by sapphic and aroace people?

It turned out to be a lovely romp through verse and headcanons.

Tapestry might be for you if:

  • You like Shakespeare comedies, but the allo pressure to have as many weddings as possible grates on your nerves

  • You want more enby aroace main characters in fantasy

  • You like a fun comedy with confusion, shenanigans, and plenty of tricks on the guy who says he’s in charge

You can find the ebook and print versions at any major retailer except for Amazon.

Happy reading!
